Here is your full brief on Dana and Acme Corp.
What you would have missed
CRM
Open deal
EUR 42,000
Close date
3 months overdue
Last touch
12 May
Who you're meetingWorkspace
Dana Whitfield, VP Revenue Operations at Acme Corp. She is the commercial decision maker, the right person, and she has been engaged before. She is on LinkedIn.
The elephant in the room: this deal has been quiet since MayCRM
There is an open deal sitting at EUR 42,000, stage "Qualified to Buy", with a close date of 11 June, over three months overdue. Last touch was an outbound call on 12 May by Cody A. Nothing since. The deal was updated 9 September in HubSpot, so someone is keeping it alive on paper, but there has been zero engagement in four months.
Before you do anything else in this meeting, you need to understand what happened. Did Dana go cold? Did internal priorities shift? Was there a budget freeze? Did a competitor come in? Do not rehash the pitch until you know.
What has been covered alreadyActivity
The relationship started 1 April with Cody's cold call, a good one. Dana said "that is a good pitch" and was genuinely curious. She laid out Acme's situation clearly: two product lines, one for mid market and one for enterprise, around 2,000 customers, and they sell into everything from small teams to multinationals across Europe. She mentioned a 70% demo conversion rate, which tells you they close well once someone is in a demo, and they know it.
From there: first meeting 14 April, demo 29 April, you sent a follow up email 30 April, check in meeting 5 May, then a completed call 8 May and a call on 12 May. Then silence.
The 1 April call summary and transcript are on the record, in Dana's own words.
What their own market is telling usResearch
20 signals ran against them. The 6 that came back are the ones worth using:
Named-account motion: they sell to large enterprise logos, so the buying group is a committee, not a person
Multi region selling: 3 regions with local sales leadership, which is why one message does not travel
PE backed since 2019: efficiency and pipeline quality will be the language that lands
Exhibiting again in October: they exhibited in June too, so there is a live reason to talk
Runs HubSpot: you already integrate, so there is nothing to migrate
The other 14 came back empty. No new sales leadership, no funding round, no methodology rollout, no restructure. Nothing there to hang an opener on, which is worth knowing before you improvise one.
How to talk to themResearch
Qualified as a Decision Maker in Commercial Leadership, checked a month ago, against an account qualified on your ICP verticals.
Suggested tone of voice: direct, concise, data driven and consultative. Speak as a peer operator, not as a vendor. Confident but not pushy, with clear structure and room for them to challenge your assumptions.
Their actual challenge (use this to anchor the conversation)Activity
The problem Cody framed, and Dana validated, is real and layered:
Multi persona complexity: Acme sells to finance, operations and heads of revenue, different buyers, different messaging per account
Multi country nuance: nine countries, with a separate mid market product on top. Local context matters in how they prospect and message
Prospect discoverability: not all their targets are on LinkedIn, operations managers at mid size firms are often only findable via websites and directories. Dana flagged this explicitly
Scale ambition: they want to go from SMBs to multinationals, which means they need a motion that works across very different deal sizes and account complexities
Your opening line, written
What to walk in with
Open by acknowledging the gap directly. Do not pretend May did not happen. Something like: "We had good momentum in April and May, help me understand what shifted." Then listen.
If the deal is still alive, reground it in their specific problems, not a generic demo recap. The nine country complexity and the non LinkedIn prospecting challenge are the sharpest angles.
Their CRM is HubSpot, you already integrate. That is a practical "why this is easy to start" point if you get to it.
Dana values being understood. The cold call worked because Cody had done his homework. Walk in having re read what you know about them.
What you need to leave with
A clear answer on: is this still a live opportunity, and if yes, what does next look like, a trial, a technical review, a proposal revision? If it is dead, find out why, because that intel is worth more than the deal.

One thing worth noting: the account strength score is low (researched 17 August), and no research results are showing against it. There may be more context locked in the account plan. Want me to pull that too, or would you rather I help you draft a re-engagement opener for the meeting itself?
